With another year ending, BASIS International School Shenzhen recently celebrated the Senior Class of 2026 graduating. We first had our traditional Graduation Day Parade. You could tell that many of the students had been waiting for this moment.

时序更迭,又逢毕业佳期。近日,深圳贝赛思国际学校隆重举办了2026 届高中毕业典礼。礼循校园传统,本次典礼在毕业生的盛装巡游中正式拉开序幕,这也是他们期待已久的经典环节。

Wearing smiles from ear to ear, the seniors took their time to soak in the cheers from the school. Students and teachers, ranging from ECE to High School, lined the hallways and staircases. The applause raining down symbolized recognition of the seniors’ endless efforts that it takes to walk across the stage at BASIS. The parade ended with the seniors getting a rousing performance from the school’s band playing School’s Out for Summer.


毕业生们脸上洋溢着灿烂的笑容,他们放慢脚步,尽情感受着全校师生的欢呼与祝福。从幼儿部到高中部的师生分列走廊和楼梯两侧,热烈的掌声此起彼伏,致敬毕业生多年勤勉耕耘,恭喜他们即将踏上毕业典礼的荣耀舞台。巡游最后,学校乐队奏响了经典曲目《School's Out for Summer》,昂扬欢快的旋律层层递进,把现场的热烈氛围推向高潮。

When the streamers, confetti, and balloons fell to the floor, the seniors prepared for the ceremony. The room was filled with excitement as the seniors entered the auditorium, adorned with banners with their yearbook photos. Mr. Mark Hartley and Dr. Tim Willcutts set the stage with amazing speeches, but it was the senior speaker, Sophia L., who stole the show. Her gratitude for faculty, staff, fellow students, and parents helped show that guiding students through is a communal job.

彩带和气球漫天飘扬,毕业巡游圆满收官,大家开始期待正式典礼的启幕。学校剧院悬挂展示着每位毕业生的巨幅肖像照,既有庄重肃穆的仪式感,也洋溢着荣耀与欢欣。副校长Mr. Mark Hartley和教师代表Dr. Tim Willcutts分别发表了精彩致辞,言语恳切、意蕴深长。毕业生代表Sophia L.则在演讲中表达了对我校全体教职员工、同学和家长的诚挚谢意,深刻诠释了教育是一个在环境滋养中不断成就自我的过程。图片

After each student received their diploma, the students eagerly approached the risers for the long-awaited cap throw. As the tassels and well-decorated caps flew into the sky, so did the celebratory balloons. Though the ceremony had ended, the times did not. Many students, teachers, parents, and staff stayed after. Photos, reminiscing, and other nostalgic moments were shared, going long into the evening.

毕业典礼的高光时刻当属毕业生们依次登台,接过凝结着数载努力的毕业证书。最后,他们将自己精心装饰的学士帽抛向天空,缤纷气球亦随之而起,象征着他们放飞梦想,即将奔赴远方。典礼结束后,许多学生、家长和教职员工迟迟不愿散场道别。大家相聚合影,细数往昔,在欢声笑语中互道珍重与祝福。

The good times did not stop there. Seniors held their annual prom. While plenty of great food was there, it was the student performances that got the night started. Multiple performances showcased the seniors’ various talents. In addition to the musical performances, the students were able to have some light fun by giving out humorous awards. Laughs all around as all students accepted them warmly. As the night came to a close, the students had a tough time leaving the venue. They all knew that this would be the last time for a long time.

典礼结束后,喜悦与欢庆仍在继续。上周末,毕业生们自主筹办了温馨隆重的毕业舞会。现场不**琳琅满目的丰盛佳肴,还有丰富多元的才艺展演。除了精彩的音乐节目,舞会还设置了各种趣味奖项,一个个奖项串联起师生之间美好的共同回忆,让颁奖环节欢笑不断。夜色渐浓,同学们依依不舍,留恋着美好的相聚时光,格外珍惜这场未来难再得的同窗相聚。

A gentle breeze blew in the early summer air, bringing warmth across the campus. To help younger students get a head start on the next stage of their learning, PS held a heartwarming cross-grade experience-sharing event in May. During the event, “older” students transformed into gentle yet confident little teachers, visiting their younger peers' classrooms to share their own growth stories at school. They talked about the subtle changes they had experienced since moving up to a new grade, and vividly introduced new curriculum themes, engaging classroom activities, daily homework expectations, and school schedules.

五月暖风拂夏,满园温情。为帮助低年级同学提前了解新学年的学习生活,小学部温馨开展了跨年级经验分享活动。活动中,高年级学长学姐化身温柔自信的“小老师”,在课堂上与大家真诚分享自己的校园成长故事。他们结合亲身经历,细细讲述了升入新年级后的点滴变化,生动介绍了全新的课程主题、有趣的课堂活动、日常作业规范和作息安排等丰富内容。

To make the sharing more intuitive and easier to understand, the senior students also brought their own classwork and outstanding homework samples. They held a relaxed and fun interactive Q&A session, patiently answering questions from the younger students. The young audience listened attentively, their eyes focused, and actively raised their hands to participate, gaining a wealth of knowledge in a warm and enjoyable atmosphere. It was a heartwarming peer-to-peer sharing session and a beautiful passing of the torch.

为了让分享更为直观易懂,学长学姐们还带来了自己的课堂练习和**作业样本,并在互动问答环节中耐心解答各种疑问。台下的小观众们听得十分认真,眼神专注,积极举手交流,在轻松愉快的氛围里获益匪浅。这是一场温暖的朋辈分享,亦是校园学风与成长经验的温暖薪传。

This cross-grade sharing activity gave younger students a closer look at their new stage of learning and life, filling them with more confidence and anticipation. It also filled the entire campus with an atmosphere of mutual support and warm progress.

本次跨年级分享活动让低年级同学褪去忐忑,更为期待新阶段的学习生活,也让互帮互助、温暖共进的校园氛围愈发浓厚。

Resilience is the quiet strength that allows us to rise after falling, to grow through setbacks, and to face life with unwavering courage. To help every student truly feel, understand, and practice this vital skill, our annual Mental Health Week has officially commenced with a special theme: The Resilience Museum. Unlike traditional exhibitions, this unique museum is curated by students from every division. It transforms abstract psychological strength into tangible, touching narratives—inviting us to explore the power of healing and growth that resides within us all.

心理韧性,是一种无声的力量。它让我们失意后重整步履,在挫折中向阳生长,从容直面成长路上的种种考验。我校年度心理健康周以“心理韧性博物馆”为主题,以期引导学生感知、读懂并践行这份独特的心灵力量。这座独特的“博物馆”由全校各学部师生共创策展,将抽象的心理素养具象化为一个个可感、可知、可共鸣的故事,让我们在沉浸式的体验中,探寻内心的治愈之源,遇见那个更坚韧的自己。

Step into the Fearless Mistake Zone, where authenticity reigns. Here, Middle and High School students share raw, personal tales of struggles, setbacks, and failures. In a culture obsessed with success, we often hide our flaws. This exhibit shatters that illusion: mistakes are not blemishes, but vital chapters in our growth story. True resilience isn't about never falling; it is about the courage to face the fall and rise again.

走进“无惧犯错区”,初高中学子在此袒露心声,讲述了他们在生活与学业中遭遇的挑战、挫折与失败。在一个惯于颂扬成功的世界里,我们往往习惯于掩盖瑕疵。该展区打破了这一刻板印象,告诉大家失误并不会让人生一蹶不振,而是成长的必经之路。真正的心理韧性从不是拒绝跌倒,而是在跌倒后,依然敢于直面缺憾、重整行囊再出发的勇气。

As you walk along the Dialogue Echo Wall, you will encounter a vibrant collection of Q&A works. These pieces capture the sincere and fascinating conversations between Middle and High School students. Youthful minds offer unique perspectives on pain, persistence, and hope. Every question is a moment of confusion; every answer is an act of self-salvation and mutual encouragement. Wisdom, indeed, begins in wonder.

于 “对话回声墙”前漫步,你将邂逅一系列赤诚真挚的问答作品。这里记录了初高中学生关于成长、痛苦、坚持与希望的精彩对话。年轻的心灵对万物有着独特感知,每一个问题都是青春的困惑,每一个回答都是温暖的自我救赎与同伴间的彼此照亮。智慧,往往就诞生于这份不设限的好奇之中。

The Voices of Primary Students

童真韧性之声

Resilience knows no age limit. This section shows the perspective of primary students through a message wall and a "Tree of Resilience". We discover that even our youngest learners possess simple yet profound wisdom when facing difficulties.  Outstanding participants of our events were rewarded with surprise gifts. We hope the seeds of resilience planted today will become the enduring strength that carries them through life. Additionally, a special interactive board has been installed for teachers. We invite our students and teachers to drop notes here—sharing insights on resilience and offering their own stories of guidance and growth.

韧性从无年龄界限,懵懂童真亦有其直面困境的智慧光芒。本展区聚焦小学生视角,由孩子们的感言墙和“韧性之树”组成,展现低年级学生以天真与勇敢应对挑战的独特姿态。积极参与心理周活动的小学同学们也得到了来自心理老师的惊喜奖品,希望大家将名为韧性的种子植于心中,成为往后面对风雨时坚实的心理底色。与此同时,该展区还特别设立了教师学生互动留言板,并邀请观展师生在此留下他们对心理韧性的独到见解,或是关于勇敢成长的宝贵经验。

The Resilience Museum is more than a display of works; it is a journey of self-exploration and emotional healing. Resilience is not built overnight. It lives in the bravery to try, the humility to admit mistakes, the openness to discuss confusion, and the determination to persist. May every one of us harvest strength here, learning to embrace imperfection, reconcile with setbacks, and grow into a calmer, more positive, and resilient self.

这座“心理韧性博物馆”陈列了作品,承载着心声,让全校师生在此开始一段自我探索与心灵治愈之旅。心理韧性从来不是与生俱来的天赋,而是在一次次敢于尝试、坦诚认错、直面困惑与坚定前行中,慢慢沉淀下来的生命底色。愿每一位同学都能在此次展览中汲取力量,学会拥抱不**,与挫折握手言和,修炼出一颗更加从容、积极且坚韧的内心,向阳而立,逐光生长。

G7&8 Drama:

Bridging Cultures Through the Art of Drama

七、八年级戏剧:融汇中西,戏演芳华

Last week, Grade 7 and Grade 8 students took to the stage to showcase their end-of-year drama performances, celebrating a semester of creativity, collaboration, and hard work.

上周,七、八年级的期末戏剧展演圆满落幕。学生们以精彩的舞台演绎,致敬了本学年那些满载创意、同心协作与勤勉耕耘的成长时光。

Grade 7 students presented a series of short plays inspired by traditional Chinese fables. Throughout the semester, they adapted their chosen stories into scripts, designed lighting effects, and planned every aspect of their productions from concept to performance. Their efforts resulted in four unique and engaging plays, each bringing timeless lessons to life through imaginative storytelling and thoughtful stagecraft.

七年级学子带来了系列取材于中国传统寓言的原创短剧。在本学期的学习中,他们潜心打磨剧本、敲定灯光布设,全程统筹剧目编排的各项细节。历经数月筹备,同学们最终呈现了四出充满巧思、妙趣盎然的剧目,凭借灵动的叙事结构和精巧的舞台布景,把古老寓言蕴含的智慧娓娓道来。

Meanwhile, the Grade 8 students joined forces to perform Peter and the Starcatcher by Rick Elice, a whimsical prequel that explores the origins of Peter Pan. Filled with humorous characters, treasure-seeking pirates, a young Starcatcher and a lively group of orphans, the production captivated the audience with its energy, creativity, and charm. Both performances highlighted the students’ growing confidence, teamwork, and passion for the performing arts.

八年级学子则带来了Rick Elice笔下的经典剧目《彼得与摘星人》。这部充满奇思妙想的前传作品探索了彼得·潘的起源。剧中,四处寻宝的海盗、怀揣使命的摘星少年与天真活泼的孤儿等鲜活人物轮番登场,让舞台充满活力、创意与趣味,收获了满堂喝彩。从七年级寓言短剧到八年级的奇幻剧作,两场大戏皆展现了同学们日渐笃定的舞台自信、默契无间的协作素养与根植心底的艺术热忱。

G1 Performance: Creative Expressions, Colorful Growth

一年级音乐剧:彩笔登台,共绘成长

This week, the BISZ Auditorium was filled with colour, creativity, and excitement as our Grade 1 students took to the stage for their end-of-year Music and Drama performance, The Day the Crayons Quit.

本周,一年级年终音乐剧《蜡笔罢工的一天》登陆学校大剧院,让舞台充满了斑斓色彩、奇趣巧思与蓬勃朝气。

Inspired by the popular children’s book by Drew Daywalt, the production brought a collection of colourful crayon characters to life through music, movement, drama, and storytelling. Each Grade 1 class represented a different crayon, exploring its unique personality and emotions through performance. From the fiery frustration of Red Crayon to the calm confidence of Green and the gentle determination of Pink, students worked together to create a vibrant and engaging theatrical experience.

该剧改编自Drew Daywalt的同名绘本,演出融会了音乐、肢体动作、戏剧表演和故事讲述,让一众鲜活灵动的蜡笔角色在舞台上精彩亮相。一年级以班为单位,分别化身不同色彩的蜡笔精灵,用心诠释各色角色的喜怒哀乐。红蜡笔满是气恼委屈,绿蜡笔从容沉稳,粉蜡笔温柔笃定,同学们默契配合,共同打造了一场生动有趣的戏剧体验。

The performance was a true collaboration between the Music and Drama programmes, allowing students to combine acting, singing, playing instruments, and expressive movement into a single shared production. The finale brought all of the colours together in a joyful celebration of teamwork and individuality, reminding us that every colour has an important place in the box.

本次演出是音乐课与戏剧课的跨学科合作,同学们把演唱、器乐、表演与抒情舞蹈巧妙结合,尽情施展所长。演出落幕之际,各色 “蜡笔” 齐聚舞台,在欢声笑语中诠释了团队协作与自我表达,也道出了每种色彩各有价值的暖心哲理。

We are incredibly proud of the hard work, enthusiasm, and courage shown by all of our Grade 1 students. As they prepare to leave Grade 1 and begin their journey into Grade 2, this performance served as a wonderful celebration of their growth, learning, and creativity.

一年级学生怀揣热忱刻苦排练,勇敢站上舞台,每份付出都值得喝彩。同学们即将辞别一年级、奔赴二年级新旅程,这场精彩表演正是对他们一整载成长蜕变、知识积淀与创意天赋的美好献礼。

Algebra and Creativity in City Construction Project

活用数理,筑造新城

Recently, G6 Pre-Algebra students were challenged with the task of building their own city, going from a 2D plan to a 3D creation. During this project, they had to utilize their creativity and mathematical skills in the design process. The project featured many types of geometric skills, such as building nets to create buildings, designing parts of a city with shapes, lines, angles, and calculating the surface area and volume of their buildings. By the end of the project, students showcased their awesome skills, creating innovative and detailed cities.

近期,六年级预备代数课堂开启了一项趣味实践项目。同学们从二维平面图纸入手,动手搭建一座属于自己的微型城市。创作全程需融汇创意思维与数理知识,灵活运用各类几何知识,例如使用网格纸搭建楼宇,借助图形、线条与角度规划区域布局,以及计算建筑表面积与体积等。项目结束之际,一件件构思新颖的城建模型悉数亮相,充分展现了同学们扎实的数理素养与出众的动手能力。




Gotcha Stars, Practise Fairness

德育之星,践行公平



The Gotcha Program has long been an important part of Primary School life, and our teachers have worked throughout the year to nurture positive values and habits in our students. This school year, we still have focused on one character trait each quarter: Respect, Caring, Responsibility, and finally, Fairness. As we come to the end of the year, we are delighted to recognize our final group of Gotcha Stars. There are the students who have consistently demonstrated fairness through their words and actions. Whether by sharing, taking turns, listening to others, or ensuring everyone feels included, they have shown what it means to treat others with kindness, respect, and a strong sense of fairness. We are incredibly proud of these students and the positive example they set for our school community!

品格涵养是小学部育人体系里不可或缺的重要一环。本学年,老师们立足课堂教学与点滴校园日常,循序渐进引导学生树立正向价值观、涵养良好行为习惯,在四个学季分别聚焦不同的核心品格特质,包括尊重(Respect)、关爱(Caring)、责任(Responsibility)和公平(Fairness)。时至学年末尾,本学年最后一期 “德育之星” 荣誉表彰如期举行,肯定了在校园生活中通过自己的言行展现公平意识的同学。他们乐于分享、有序谦让、静心聆听,用心接纳身边每位伙伴,以一言一行诠释了公平待人、尊重他人的内涵。感谢这些同学以身作则,成为校园里向善向上的鲜活榜样。
